Explanation of ingredients tandoori chicken masala

Coriander: the leaves have a lemony flavor, while the seeds have a slightly sweet, aniseed flavor.
Cumin: gives a nut and peppery flavor to dishes. To be used in curry or chili, for example.
Garlic: has a distinctive flavor and can be used in a variety of dishes.
Ginger: has an intense sharp taste. Can be used in, for example, desserts, bread or biscuits. In India it is widely used with fish.
Fenugreek: it is a plant of the legume family. The seeds can be used in, for example, salads, vegetable dishes or curry sauce. It has its own specific flavor.
Cardamom: herbaceous plant of the ginger family. It has a pungent aroma and a sweet taste with a hint of lemon, camphor and bergamot. The green variant provides spice and freshness. The black variety is suitable for more powerful dishes such as curries and stews.
Clove: gives a spicy and spicy taste to dishes.

Storage advice

Keep in a cool and dry place. After opening, transfer the contents to an airtight container. The spice mix can be kept for up to 2 years after production date.

 

Tandoori chicken preparation

For chicken with bone:

  1. Cut a whole 1 kg chicken into 4 pieces (do not use chicken larger than 1.25 kg).
  2. Make several parallel cuts in the chicken.
  3. Marinate the chicken pieces for 2 hours in a mix of 1 1/2 cups of curd (Greek yogurt), 25 grams of Sakthi Tandoori Chicken Masala, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and salt to taste.
  4. Place the marinated chicken on a rack in a preheated grill (180ºC) and grill the chicken for 25 to 30 minutes until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Brush the chicken with ghee or oil and fry it for another 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Squeeze 1 lemon over the chicken and sprinkle Sakthi Chat Masala over the chicken.
  7. Serve the chicken with onion rings, lemon wedges and green chutney.

For chicken fillet:

  1. Follow the same steps as the chicken with bone, but grill the chicken for about 15 minutes.
