Black cardamom can be found in many Indian, Chinese and Vietnamese cuisines. It is one of the oldest and most expensive spices in Eastern cuisine.
Chop the cardamom finely and in small quantities the black cardamom can be used in, for example, stews (beef dishes, lamb dishes) and curries. This is in contrast to the green cardamom, which is often used in sweet dishes.
Black cardamom is naturally spicy and slightly smoky in taste.
In an appropriate amount, however, cardamom takes your dish to the next level.
