Fenugreek is mainly used in Indian and Pakistani (curry), Arab (pastry and bread) and North African (meat and fish) cuisine.
Methi seeds (fenugreek) are used to flavor various dishes and are also part of spice blends such as Panch phoron. A teaspoon taken every morning with a glass of water is said to have a calming and cooling effect.
In addition to the leaves of the same name, fenugreek seeds are one of the main ingredients of Indian cuisine. The seeds, also known as methi, taste slightly bitter and are very aromatic.
Fenugreek seeds in finely chopped form can be added directly to the food. Use the aromatic seeds for chicken masalas, curries with potatoes and spinach and chana masala (vegetable dish with chickpeas).
